Pre-expanded cold shrink terminations and joints for 12/20kV MV networks, built around IEC dimensions for European and Middle East projects.
20kV cold shrink accessories are specified for 12/20kV systems -- the IEC voltage designation used across European utilities, Gulf-grid projects and most international EPC work. The parts follow the same pre-expanded, core-pull principle as the 15kV line, but are dimensioned and tested for the higher rated stress of a 20kV class network.
The buying decision here is usually made against a cable schedule and an IEC type-test requirement rather than a single catalogue number. RMU and switchgear OEMs, solar EPC contractors and utility distributors tend to qualify one body family across a conductor range and then manage stock by cable OD. We support that with an XLPE termination selector and consistent kit contents so a missing component never stops a joint on site.
| Voltage class | 12/20 kV (20 kV rated, IEC) |
| Cable range | 35 mm2 to 800 mm2 copper and aluminium XLPE |
| Sleeve material | EPDM / silicone with integrated stress cone |
| Operating temperature | -40 C to +90 C |
| Seal rating | IP68 after installation |
| Standards | IEC 60502-4, EN 50393, HD 629, GB/T 12706 |
| Installation | Cold shrink -- no heat source required |
On IEC 12/20kV systems the stress-control cone has to be right or partial discharge starts early in the joint life. A cold-shrink body carries that cone as a moulded feature, which removes the field-assembled step that heat-shrink and tape methods depend on. For EPC and OEM buyers the attraction is repeatability: the same body seats the same way regardless of which crew installs it, and there is no flame in a switchroom or cable basement.
The stress cone is fixed in the body, but the joint still needs correct cable preparation: screen cutoff length, semi-con finish and a clean weather seal. We size bodies by cable OD across the conductor range you carry, and pack each kit with the same component set so a termination and a straight joint on the same cable do not need two different orders.
We state the control plan with you. Batch traceability links the raw rubber lot to the finished part and the test record.
For 8.7/15kV distribution feeders.
For 18/20kV mining and industrial duty.
For 26/35kV collector and substation duty.
The rated voltage class and the stress-control geometry. A 20kV (12/20kV IEC) body is tested for the higher system stress and will not substitute for a 15kV part on a 20kV network.
Yes. We provide an XLPE termination selector keyed to cable outer diameter and insulation type to simplify stock across a conductor range.
Yes. 20kV bodies are dimensioned for RMU and switchgear feeder terminations and tested to IEC 60502-4 / HD 629.
Each kit ships with a consistent component set for the cable range, reducing the risk of a missing seal or stress component during jointing.
No. Recovery is by core removal only; no torch or hot-air source is used.
