Why crosslinked polyolefin / EPDM for this application

At 800V DC the creepage and partial-discharge margins are tight, so the sleeve must be crosslinked, sized to the bar and thin to clear tight pack geometry while fully isolating the conductor edges.

Confirm DC voltage rating and wall for 800V pad — do not reuse LV polyolefin shrink. Check that corner edges of the busbar are free of burrs that can pierce the wall.

Standards: UL 224 / ISO 6722 (HV cable), IEC 62631 (dielectric).

Not suitable for [application mismatch — state your duty: voltage class, arc exposure, continuous temperature and chemical environment]. We flag the correct grade during engineering review.

Feature and remaining-wall review

Cut to length before installation; dual-wall adhesive lined requires controlled heat profile for proper flow. Review feature depth, edge distance and remaining wall against critical geometries. Capability is confirmed on your drawing, not from a blanket tolerance.

Material conditioning may be required for dimensional stability — specify humidity and temperature exposure.

Standard polyolefin recovers at 90–135 °C. PTFE at 300–400 °C. Match the recovery temperature to your assembly heat profile.
