Phenolic cotton canvas (canvas epoxy) laminate is machined into rigid, non-arc-facing fuse barrels where dimensional stability and low cost matter more than full arc resistance. Cotton-canvas grade absorbs less shock than paper when struck, giving a sturdier feel in draw-out fuse carriers.
Not for the internal arc-facing wall of a high-breaking-capacity link; pair canvas with an outer arc-quenching bore. Soak/swell risk in humid service unless varnished.

Vulcanized fiber tubes for fuse bodies are referenced to IEC 60269 for body dimensions and end-cap geometry. Material follows ASTM D2491 (fish paper) and UL 94 V-0 for flammability. Specify the fuse link type and voltage class and we confirm the grade and tolerance.

No. For arc-facing surfaces, use ceramic-filled epoxy glass, melamine or synthetic arc-quenching composites. Vulcanized fiber is for non-arc-facing mechanical bodies and end caps.
