Why ECR epoxy fiberglass for this application
ECR (boron-free) glass rods carry high dielectric and flexural values and leach less in humid or high-CTI duty, which is why they hold up in transformer and switchgear standoffs.
End shoulder and thread work must not cut into the core zone; confirm remaining-wall and axial-load capacity. Rods warp slightly with storage humidity.
Standards: ASTM D709, IEC 60672, UL 94 V-0.

Diamond-coated tools for clean edges; CNC turning, grinding and drilling to drawing. Dimensional stability excellent with controlled moisture content. What voltage class can epoxy glass handle?
Dielectric strength ≥ 20 kV/mm. Voltage rating depends on thickness, geometry and safety factor — your drawing determines the insulation level.
Can epoxy glass be machined to tight tolerances?
Yes. We hold ±0.05 mm on ID/OD with CNC turning and grinding using diamond-coated tools to avoid delamination.
Is epoxy glass arc-resistant?
It has good arc resistance but is not arc-quenching. For direct arc contact, pair with ceramic-filled or synthetic arc-quenching composites.
