Silicone-Coated Fire Sleeve for Hose and Cable

High-temperature fire sleeve for hydraulic lines and harnesses. Fire sleeve protects hydraulic hose and wiring from flame, heat and abrasion. The silicone-coated glass reflects heat and the layer insulates the line. We supply it in ID and length for the line, with hook-and-loop option for install without disconnect. Yes. We supply hook-and-loop versions that wrap the line in place. Higher-temperat

Applications by industry

Why silicone-coated fiberglass fire sleeve for this application

Silicone-coated glass fire sleeve contains oil, fuel and hydraulic hoses against radiant heat and flame impingement — protection, not just insulation, for the highest heat zones.

Confirm rated temperature and flame spec against the actual hot surface; it protects against radiant heat, not prolonged direct flame. Check fit over fittings/id.

Standards: SAE J1455 & UL VW-1 (use class), IEC 60684-3.

Not suitable for [application mismatch — state your duty: voltage class, arc exposure, continuous temperature and chemical environment]. We flag the correct grade during engineering review.

Feature and remaining-wall review

ID/OD sintered to size; CNC turning for ends, slots and holes. PTFE requires sharp tools to avoid chatter. Review feature depth, edge distance and remaining wall against critical geometries. Capability is confirmed on your drawing, not from a blanket tolerance.

Material conditioning may be required for dimensional stability — specify humidity and temperature exposure.

Inspection and traceability

We state the control plan with you. Batch traceability links raw material lot to finished part.

Common questions

Is PTFE chemically inert?

Yes. PTFE resists all common acids, bases, solvents and fuels except molten alkali metals and fluorine at elevated temperature. No post-processing needed for chemical resistance.

What tolerances can you hold on PTFE tubing?

ID/OD ±0.05 mm on standard sizes; tighter tolerances available with grinding. PTFE is sized by sintering, so critical dimensions are best held by finish grinding after forming.

Can PTFE be threaded or machined?

PTFE can be CNC-turned for ends, slots and holes using sharp, low-speed tools to avoid chatter. Threads are best formed by machining rather than rolling.

Do you supply material certification for PTFE?

Yes. Each batch includes a material COA. First-article inspection and dielectric strength testing are available per your specification.

Can fire sleeve be installed without disconnect?

Yes. Each batch includes a material COA. First-article inspection and dielectric strength testing are available per your specification.
