Vulcanized Paper Abrasives
Well Electric, Vulcanized paper abrasives are mainly used for grinding and polishing metal, stone, and wood, etc. The substrate is high-strength green steel paper, and the abrasive can be brown corundum, silicon carbide, zirconia, etc. The substrate is high-strength green steel paper, the abrasive can be brown corundum, silicon carbide, and zirconium corundum, respectively for different working materials.
Due to the wide range of grit sizes and the different pad configurations, Vulcanized paper grinding discs are used in applications ranging from roughing to finishing. grinding. The advantage of steel paper grinding discs compared to phyllo discs and grinding discs is the elasticity of the backing, which makes Vulcanized paper grinding discs good adaptability, finer, and more uniform grinding results (compared to sanding discs), and, above all low price.
The disadvantages are the shorter service life compared to lapidary discs and the higher sensitivity to moisture and temperature.
Vulcanized fiber paper abrasive discs should be stored in an environment with an average relative air humidity of 45 – 65% [see Storage of abrasives]. Too high or too low air humidity will cause the abrasive discs to bend.
Overheating should be avoided when sanding. In case of overheating, e.g. due to high pressure or grinding position, the back base overheating or formation of air bubbles, which can cause the abrasive grains to break.
